This project is for our children and all the children to come.

Susan DeLaney has practiced naturopathic medicine in North Carolina for over three decades. Over that time, she has observed a growing number of patients, including young people, seeking help for chronic illnesses. The motivation for this video project was Dr. DeLaney's search for the cause of the steep rise in disease in America. Her clinical experiences and studies in the biochemistry of how food works in the body have compelled her to share the tragic story of the declining health of the American people.

In 1980 the US Department of Agriculture introduced the low-fat diet. Every year since Americans have gotten fatter and fatter until now four out of five Americans are overweight and 42% are obese. Most disturbing for our future is that one in five children is obese. You have only to look around to see that the low-fat diet is not working to support our nation’s health. Our children are being set up for a life of chronic physical and mental disease.

In August of 2020 the Journals of the American College of Cardiology published an article about the value of saturated fats for good health that completely reverses the current medical advice for a healthy diet. The article also tells the origin story of anti-fat mis-information and makes an urgent plea for creating new guidelines to reverse the disastrous health decline in this country.

This website provides links to 13 videos to introduce you to fat-soluble vitamins, some easy-to-understand biochemistry, and a fascinating history of how and why fats have been demonized by medical science. Your Health Is No Big Thing—It's a Million Little Things also includes simple changes that you can make each day to improve your health and become the captain of your own health care team.
